Star Wars: 10 Secrets Behind The Death Star You Didn't Know
5. It Had A Gravitational Pull
327 internal levels, accommodation for millions, 127 kilometers in diameter, the Death Star was an absolute unit. A scene in Rogue One demonstrates this scale by absolutely dwarfing an entire fleet of Star Destroyers, already known to be huge, next to the superlaser dish.
Given its size, it should come as no real surprise that the Death Star actually had its own gravity. This would have made taking off in a TIE fighter more akin to a take off on a planet, so as to reach the escape velocity required to get out of its grasp.
