Star Wars: 10 Secrets Behind X-Wings You Need To Know

6. The X-Wings Made The Actors Sick

If you thought it would be a dream come true for the actors to zip around in an X-Wing, there's at least one Star Wars cast member who strongly disagrees. While filming The Force Awakens, Oscar Isaac, who portrays Poe Dameron, had to stop filming because he suffered motion sickness while shooting his X-Wing scene.

The reason why the Guatemalan performer found his scenes so difficult is because the cockpit set that he was in was attached to a gimbal - a pivot that swings and rolls, causing the prop (and the actor within) to flip around at incredible speed on an axis.

While on Good Morning America to promote the movie, the Hollywood star explained, “The first time I was on it, I was yelling and doing my thing, and I got so sick, ’cause I was so hot and it was moving around, I had to stop. I was like, ‘Hold on guys, I need to swallow my lunch for a second!'”

Suffering motion sickness on a gimbal is common with actors and sadly, Isaac learned that the hard way.
