Star Wars: 10 Side Characters With Awesome Back-Stories

1. Dengar

Another of the bounty hunters hired to find the Millennium Falcon, Dengar's hunt for Han Solo was personal. Originally a keen 'swoop racer' (a slightly safer version of podracing,) Dengar later became an Imperial agent, before turning to bounty hunting. After being incessantly compared to Han Solo in the private swoop racing circuit, Dengar decided to challenge the smuggler in a winner-takes-all race. During the final lap, Solo flew his swoop directly over Dengar's vehicle, leading to serious burns on his face and causing him spin into a devastating crash. Imperial doctors were able to save him, but left him as part-cyborg, resulting in the removal of his ability to feel compassion or mercy. That, combined with his ban from professional swoop racing due to the illegal race, set him on a relentless journey for revenge against Solo. Working as an Imperial assassin, Dengar deserted in anger after being ordered to murder children in cold blood. A bounty was put on his head for the desertion, but Darth Vader offered for it to be removed if he could successfully hunt down the Millennium Falcon.
