Star Wars: 10 Side Characters With Awesome Back-Stories

4. Lobot

Lobot is the mysterious chief administrative aid of Bespin's Cloud City, seen in The Empire Strikes Back. The city's only computer-liaison officer, Lobot is a cyborg that had his brain directly connected to the facility's computer network. Born as the son of a slaver, Lobot was captured by pirates at the age of 15, acting as their slave for two years. Surviving the ordeal, he was eventually able to escape to Cloud City. Once there, he was arrested for stealing, and almost given a prison sentence. However, the Baroness Administrator saw potential in the clever criminal, and instead sentenced him to 15 years of involuntary service to Cloud City. Part of the deal was that he would undergo the cyborg augmentation. Lobot grew to love his job, and he proved to be incredibly effective in his role, eventually earning the title of chief administrative aide. His decades of connection with the computer network meant he could perform tasks that would normally take dozens of workers, and was known by many as the true force that ran Cloud City. Lobot was fiercely loyal to Lando Calrissian, serving under him long after the destruction of the second Death Star.
