Star Wars: 10 Things From Legends That Need To Be Made Canon
1. Darth Plagueis
Revenge of the Sith was the first Star Wars film to discuss Darth Sidious's master, Darth Plagueis the Wise. By manipulating midichlorians, Plagueis was among the few Sith who could elongate the lifespan of others and create life from scratch. After Sidious learned all he could from his mentor, he slayed Plagueis in his sleep.
The tale of Plagueis was brief but viewers were desperate to learn more about the mysterious Sith Lord. Even though his backstory was expanded in James Luceno's Darth Plagueis novel, the character has remained entirely absent from TV shows, animated series, and films. This is a shame since canonising him can expand the backstory behind the Sith Order's dark experiments, which were barely touched on in The Rise of Skywalker and The Mandalorian.
Also, incorporating Plagueis would help delve into the backstory of his apprentice, Darth Sidious. Even though Sidious is one of the most iconic villains in all of sci-fi, showing his time under Plagueis' tutelage could humanise him and help us understand what shaped him into the Sith we all know him as.
