Star Wars: 10 Things You Need To Know About Rogue One

1. Some Believe It Could Tie Into Force Awakens

And finally, the wackiest theory on the market regarding Rogue One is that it could tie in directly to The Force Awakens, a movie set decades later within the Star Wars continuity. In a fan theory circulated widely by the movie press, it€™s been suggested that the mysterious Knights of Ren from Episode VII could have a link to the central gang of Rebels in Rogue One. This theory stems from the fact that the Knights of Ren carry some similar weaponry to the central Rogue One cast when they're briefly glimpsed in Rey€™s flashback/vision sequence during The Force Awakens. Notably, one carries a staff that bears significant resemblance to one from the sole Rogue One set picture that we've seen. According to Kylo Ren himself, Mr Adam Driver, the Knights are €œa group that existed before him.€™ He also noted that €œtheir place within everything is maybe more of a satellite group.€ It isn€™t entirely out of the question that these guys could have existed as far back as Rogue One€™s slot in the timeline, then. But still, it feels a bit farfetched that Gareth Edwards would introduce a new gang of heroes in his movie, only for Rian Johnson or Colin Trevorrow to turn them into villains in Episode VIII or IX. Stranger things have happened in Star Wars, though, so it's impossible to rule out the possibility that Rogue One€™s leads could fall to the dark side. Rogue One will surely have plenty of twists and turns, and maybe this will be one of them. What are you most looking forward to in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story? Let us know in the comments€
