Who is the greatest Jedi of all time? You might argue Luke Skywalker, or Yoda, or even Obi-Wan Kenobi. And those would all be fine choices. But, how many of us would say Qui-Gon Jinn? Few of us would, unfortunately. And that’s understandable.

In the Star Wars films, we don’t get to see much of Qui-Gon. He shows up in The Phantom Menace, and by the end of the film, he’s dead. We don’t get enough time to know Qui-Gon. And that’s a shame really.

Because, if you delve into his background, through comics, novels, and a few TV shows, you’ll find he’s pretty interesting. More than that, he was probably one of the greatest Jedi of his time. He had an insight into the Force that most other Jedi ignored, even Yoda.

But, in the end, Qui-Gon had a deeper knowledge of the Force than anyone else in the Jedi Temple. He correctly predicted the rise of the Sith and Anakin Skywalker’s role as the chosen one.

When you get down to it, Qui-Gon was one of the greatest Jedi of his time. Had he lived, he could have saved the galaxy from its dark fate. With that said here are ten amazing details about Qui-Gon Jinn.

10. Qui-Gon And Mace Windu Secretly Hated Each Other

Although Qui-Gon and Mace were two of the most powerful Jedi they didn't really get along. Qui-Gon was a non-conformist. He often bucked the Jedi Council and questioned their wisdom.

Mace, on the other hand, was a traditionalist. He firmly believed in both the Jedi Code and the Jedi Council. Mace never questioned orders from the Council. Eventually, he became a high-ranking member, himself.

On top of these clashes in viewpoint, Qui-Gon and Mace had personal tension. Although he never admitted it, Qui-Gon felt Mace was cold and arrogant. While Mace also had a low opinion of Qui-Gon.

Specifically, Mace felt that Qui-Gon was wrong about the return of the Sith. He also disagreed with Qui-Gon’s belief that Anakin Skywalker was the chosen one. It’s worth mentioning that Qui-Gon was right on both these points.
