Star Wars: 15 Show-Stealing Side Characters Who Shaped The Galaxy

1. Boba Fett

Boba Fett is the character with the least amount of screen time and yet he still boasts the most iconic appeal. Prior to the prequel trilogy, Fett's character had already spawned countless followers based on appearance alone. And with his limited dialogue but dominant presence, Boba Fett quickly became the baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy.

Along with Fett would come an entire culture based around him: The Mandalorians. The Mandalorians would not only play a part in Star Wars novels and comics but would become a major focal point of the prequel trilogy and animated series that would follow.

Even with his limited screen time and apparent weak "death", Fett is still the most influential supporting character in all of the films.

Shaping The Franchise:

The Star Wars films are full of supporting characters who go on to become bigger than their on screen representations. None are bigger than Boba Fett. In could be argued the prequel trilogies equivalent would be Darth Maul, but still doesn't compare to the massive cult following surrounding Fett.

Boba Fett has his detractors but his mysterious presence throughout the original trilogy created his legacy. Like many other aspects of the prequel trilogy, the origin of his character did more harm than good. It's more plausible his legacy would have been stronger in only knowing he was a clone rather than seeing him as a child, much the same way fans felt about seeing a young Darth Vader.
