12. Bad Board Games & Star Wars Trading Cards
The only awesome thing about playing a game like the one above would be seeing in how many ways you could kill off Jar Jar. Star Wars board games do enjoy a lot of popularity. They exist so once again the novelty of having anything with a Star Wars theme can carry the day whether it be the many different versions of Star Wars Monopoly or Battleship. Still waiting for the Star Wars version of Axis and Allies. Pass the Empire to this player, please. Star Wars trading cards on the other hand are nothing but awesome. That is for anyone willing to find a small community of people who actually know how to play not to mention look like extras out of Jabba's palace. The original game, which centered on the first trilogy and the expanded universe was absurdly complicated to a point where even experienced players didn't know what some cards meant. Cards were pretty cool looking, though. So how does this prove Lucas sold out? Well LucasFilm LTD didn't just stop with the original card game. They made another one for Episode I and a completely different game for Episode II. Then they began releasing spin offs of the original game where the all the card graphics were rendered in CGI images. Would have been cool if they had stuck to improving the original game or had dumbed it down some with a smart reboot in the rules, but six or seven different lines of Star Wars trading card games? Hmm.
