7. Emile Hirsch
Emile Hirsch has shown himself to be a great young actor, most notable for his superb turns in Into the Wild, Milk and Killer Joe. Hirsch tends to stick to indie and dramatic fare because that's what he seems most comfortable in, and to be completely honest, he doesn't seem that great at picking mainstream blockbuster roles; his turns in Speed Racer and The Darkest Hour didn't amount to much. Hirsch might not be too keen to return to that sort of arena, but then again, this is Star Wars; how bad could it be? Even if we got a cataclysm on the level of George Lucas' new trilogy, it's not going to damage Hirsch's career; it'll open him up to an entire generation and crowd of viewers who have pretty much not seen any of his films. Whether he can bring the requisite cockiness to the role remains to be seen, but I think so.
