Star Wars: 50 Greatest Moments - Ranked

49. A New Hope (Rogue One)

Star Wars Rogue One Princess Leia
Lucasfilm

One of the big questions heading into Star Wars: Rogue One was just how would the film connect to A New Hope? Would there be crossover, or would it end just before.

We got our answer in startling fashion, as we see the Death Star plans handed to a familiar looking figure. It doesn't stop there, though, as the camera follows the character until we see her face, a digitally recreated version of Princess Leia.

People have and will continue to argue about the CGI - both the quality and whether it should even be done - but seeing young Leia appear again, and the direct link between Rogue One and Episode IV, is an inspiring moment, especially after the destruction before it, and one that gives us all hope.
