Star Wars: 6 Ways Hayden Christensen Could Appear In Episode VIII
3. A Vision
Another semi-sensible way Anakin could appear, only with the added bonus of not legitimising the Hayden Force ghost, is to have Anakin appear as a vision, not dissimilar to the one Luke had on Dagobah. The actual nature of such a dream - what it entails, where it takes place and who it involves - is impossible to speculate without knowing the state of affairs post-The Force Awakens, but you'd imagine it would deal with his turn in Vader. A warning or lesson for Luke or another character (Kylo Ren would be the obvious candidate) is certainly within the realms of acceptability. Anakin/Vader appearing in a vision is a clean and effective way to include Hayden Christensen and cause the least offence. It's logical, doesn't bring up any painful fan debates and maintains the character's original arc. If he's going to appear (and I'm going to say now it'd probably be better if he didn't) then this is the way I'd like it to be done. On top of not sending me and every other Star Wars fan into nerd rage, this has the added benefit of further justifying the new movies (a key element of the clone/resurrection theories). As we move further into this new post-Jedi timeline and the original movies become historical events in the galaxy itself, it'd be rather easy for the new releases to become distant from the films that made us love Star Wars in the first place, something the odd vision here or there would stop.
