Star Wars 7: 10 Biggest Things Revealed From The Set Leaks

10. Han Solo Plays A Major Role

He might be long in the tooth, but you can't keep a good Corellian smuggler down. The smuggler-turned-rebel-general, Han Solo, seems likely to be a major plot engine in Episode VII. According to the leaks, at the end of Episode VII, he investigates an Imperial super-weapon on an "ice and forest" world, wearing cold weather gear similar to the outfit he wore on Hoth in The Empire Strikes Back. Although the planet in question isn't the ice world audiences are familiar with, speculation is circulating that the Empire is using the as-yet unnamed planet for the same reason the rebels used Hoth: because it's remote and they want to hide what they're doing. In the Star Wars universe, remote and difficult to reach planets clearly can't be temperate. Easier to believe are leaked set photos showing sequences filmed in a forest, which is rumoured to be Yavin IV. Other than several life-size rebel ships parked there in hangar-like areas, we see the Falcon and partially destroyed temple stones in these photos. The temple stones do seem to resemble the temple seen in A New Hope, so a return to Yavin IV looks likely. The only other forest world in the preceding two trilogies is Endor, but there are no redwoods in the photos and so a return to Endor seems implausible. The leaked photos also show stormtroopers in the same forest setting, alongside the wrecked temple. Do the Imperials attack Yavin IV, presumably at the start of the movie? Perhaps this disaster prompts Han Solo to begin his quest that eventually leads to the ice-and-forest world. But what vehicle does he use for his quest? A more out-there rumour suggests that Han Solo isn't at the helm of the Millennium Falcon any more; rather, he is flying a captured super star destroyer. Curiously, that scenario sounds like something from the game Star Wars: Battlefront. However, if this rumour is true, then who is flying the Millennium Falcon seen in the trailer? Perhaps this scene saw Oscar Isaac's X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron or even Domhnall Gleeson's Imperial-turned-rebel character at the helm. Or not. It seems unlikely that anyone other than Han would be flying the Falcon, at least at this early stage. Presumably, Princess Leia Organa is also on Yavin IV during these forest scenes, but stays behind. Killing Leia in a sneak Imperial attack might be a step too far, so perhaps she survives and remains to help clean up after the Imperial assault or to rally the troops. This second option seems likely since Leia is rumoured to be the leader of the Alliance now, rather than Mon Mothma.
