Star Wars: 9 Things All Original And Prequel Trilogy Fans Agree On
7. Yoda Is The Perfect Moral Compass
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEuA5Y_Cc88Whether he’s CGI or a Muppet, he’s everyone’s favorite moral compass and personification of the Force. Granted, it took awhile for CGI Yoda to come around, yet most PT enthusiasts actually agree on this point. Before the designers corrected the Yoda we saw in The Phantom Menace, he was downright creepy-looking. He was more reminiscent of a Gremlin than the likeable little green guy we met in The Empire Strikes Back. And here’s the kicker: we can thank the versatility of CGI and Lucas’ reviled revisionism for strung out Yoda's rehab.
After those endearing Einstein lines were restored, there was zero disagreement about the character and what he represents, which is the light side of the Force in all its virtue. In a universe plagued by so much uncertainty, Yoda is not infallible, but he is the best standard by which we the audience understand what it means to be both powerful and humble in the light side’s teachings.
Older fanboys should appreciate the fact younger generations tolerate the static motions of the Muppet and vice versa with the CGI Yoda because the character comes through as relatable and awesome in all six movies.
