Star Wars Episode 7: 10 Actresses To Play First Prominent, Live-Action Female Jedi

9. Gina Carano

Yes, I'm one of those people who'd love to see Carano go on to be Wonder Woman, but if she doesn't make it into the 2015 Justice League film, I'm sure she'd have no problem fitting into the Star Wars world. Obviously, she's got the physical capability to turn any male on screen into jelly by comparison, and she also has a nice look for the role, as well. And before we get cries that the gal can't act, first, I'd like to say that she can (her brutal, sedated naturalism in Haywire just made her all the more terrifying), and I'd also like it noted that the Star Wars franchise isn't exactly famed for fantastic female performances, despite whoever is in the role at the time. I'm looking at you, Natalie Portman. If you need help, try visualizing the fight scene below with mini-lightsabers attached to her elbows. http://youtu.be/DpLErgPHt_o

Cameron Carpenter is an aspiring screenwriter, current film and journalism student, and self-diagnosed cinephile, which only sounds bad in certain circles. Devoted fan of comics, movies, theater, Jesus Christ, Sidney Lumet, and Peter O'Toole, he sometimes spends too much time on his Scribd and comicbookmovie.com, but doesn't think you're one to judge, devoted reader. You can follow him on Twitter to watch him talk to people you didn't know exist. Oh, and Daredevil is quite the big deal around here (my head).
