Star Wars Episode 7: 10 Dream Casting Choices

3. Doug Jones

You might not know this man's face, but you're almost definitely going to be familiar with his body of work. Doug Jones has demonstrated an inhuman level of versatility throughout his career, donning various suits and being caked in all manner of make-up in order to play some of the more memorably odd supporting characters in recent film history. Most recently, he received acclaim for playing Abe Sapien (pictured above) in Guillermo Del Toro's Hellboy films, and has been notably terrifying as the creature at the end of Quarantine, while also providing the mo-cap for The Silver Surfer in the second Fantastic Four film. Thus, Jones, with his tremendous physical ability and patience for being suited and booted, would be a ripe fit as either a prominent alien character, or a robot. Though Anthony Daniels would probably still be able to portray a C-3P0-type character - and would get the fanboys going nuts - Jones, being a younger actor and having a similar vocal likeness, could take that role and make it his own, giving him worldwide exposure that he both needs and deserves.
