2. Carrie Fisher

Much like Mark Hamill, speculation is building as to whether Carrie Fisher would have any involvement with a new series of Star Wars films. It is known that George Lucas met with the pair of them over the summer, at least suggesting the possibility of them appearing, albeit in an unknown capacity. Like with Hamill, Fisher's age would likely make her having a starring role somewhat unsavoury, but in a supporting role, in which she can impart some sage wisdom into the protagonist, that could be a nice, affecting moment between all the action. Given how fleshed out Leia's back story is in the expanded Star Wars universe, there's certainly plenty for the filmmakers to work with, but the one facet they must include is that Leia eventually becomes a Jedi. However, the problem is that by introducing Leia, you would almost definitely have to bring in Han Solo, which could very well turn things into a back-patting, overly-referential cameo carousel, especially if Mark Hamill is already recruited for a small part. The point of Episode VII should be to nod to the original films but also live and breath on its own; too many cameos could make that a problem.
