8. Wasting Talented Actors
So, after Samuel L. Jackson hinted like crazy that he wanted in on the Star Wars prequels, Lucas made one of his few good decisions of the last fifteen years and cast him as Mace Windu, a Jedi Master who, above all else, should surely be one of the most badass characters in the Star Wars saga, right? Right? What Lucas did, in fact, is cast one of cinema's most likeable actors, and did absolutely nothing with him; he spends the majority of his screen time listening to other characters, and spitting out mundane dialogue about space politics. He rarely gets any big "moments", and his eventual death at the hands of Palpatine - being lighting-blasted out of a window - was surprisingly underwhelming. Despite Jackson being so invested in the series - specifically requesting a purple light sabre, of all things - it's surprising that he didn't lobby harder to, you know, actually
do something.
