3. Include The Droids
R2-D2 and C-3PO bug the hell out of some people (and that goes especially for the latter), though it's become a sort of running staple that these two characters are a consistent element in every
Star Wars film. And I kind of like that: they make it feel like
Star Wars. These were the first two characters we ever met, after all, and though they were ham-fisted into the prequels through some horrible plot contrives, this time they're already in the company of our heroes, meaning that their inclusion would make sense. R2-D2 and C-3PO are also the best shot that
Star Wars has in terms of "funny" - the majority of fans would likely embrace these characters in
Episode VII, and deservedly so: they're iconic.
