Star Wars Episode 7: 5 Minor Characters Who Need A Bigger Role

1. Boba Fett

Star Wars The most iconic minor movie character maybe of all time, Boba Fett has one of the largest fan bases of any Star Wars character, and he really deserves some kind of on-screen redemption for the way he was dispatched in Return of the Jedi. In the expanded universe, Boba Fett survives his encounter with the Sarlaac and continues his career as the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy. Disney already has plans for a Boba Fett spinoff movie which is admittedly welcome news, but it's essential that Boba Fett gets some kind of role in the main trilogy of Star Wars films. While preferably, Fett would engage in some kind of cat and mouse chase, it would be almost as cool to see him team up with the heroes. He does it occasionally in the expanded universe and it's really not that far-fetched. Abrams, or whoever is in charge, should cast Tom Hardy as Fett; give him a few kick-butt action scenes, and fanboys will pretty much be fine with whatever else happens in the rest of the film.

I love movies, literature, history, music and the NBA. I love all things nerdy including but not limited to Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, and Firefly. My artistic idols are Dylan, Dostoevsky, and Malick and my goal in life is to become like Bernard Black from Black Books. When I die, I hope to turn into the space baby from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
