1. Anything To Do With The Solo Family
Return of the Jedi has just finished. The Emperor is dead (well kind of) and the Imperial Empire defeated (apart from all the ships, personnel and military leaders not present when the second Death Star was destroyed). Han Solo and Princess Leia can now get hitched and live happily ever after right? Well they do eventually get married and get round to having kids. But it is far from plain sailing for the lovable rogue and his princess.
Why it might not make a great film: The rogue smuggler and the young princess didnt have the easiest of times getting together. Han was tortured (something he is used to at least), almost sold into slavery and practically killed while trying to impress Leia. This was all after he kidnapped her to prevent her marrying another suitor. Although they did patch things up this was a rather depressing way to start a marriage. Later on during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion Chewie was killed. Han blamed his youngest son, Anakin (you would have thought naming a kid after Darth Vader might be considered unlucky), and became massively depressed. To round things off nicely Anakin was also killed during the war, At least they still had their eldest children though, the twins Jacen and Jaina. Unfortunately, you can probably guess that this wasn't going to last either.. The grim family life continued as Jacen fell to the dark side becoming Darth Caedus. As well as attempting to take over the galaxy he tried to kill both his parents. In what seems like a final attempt to drive Han and Leia to madness the writers decided that Jacen could only be stopped by his twin Jaina, who trained under Boba Fett and killed him after a heated battle. Despite all the depressing, weird and silly events that have taken place in these stories, there are still plenty of material from the expanded universe for Disney to use in their new films. They could possibly create movies on par with the originals. Dont hold your breath though, you might just end up with a fate worse than Jar Jar Binks.
