Once weve had the leaks, StarWars.com and Official Star Wars magazine should begin the next phase. Officially released promotional images. Magazines will get exclusives. Website will post any and all officially released shots and its here silence turns into hints and suggestion. Everyone involved in Episode 7 will start layering nuggets of information about their characters, the direction of the new episode and of course the images will talk volumes too. Id imagine wed also be seeing regular videos from Starwars.com with on-set footage, which once again fans will study closely for any hints or spoilers the casual viewer may have missed. Id love to see a J.J. Selects type affair to follow the sort of thing Lucas did for Episode II. Those that arent aware of them, Lucas would post a regular photo from the production and they ranged from on- set images, to abstract or shadowed images that fans spent hours speculating over. It really was a subtly brilliant way to build excitement and so much fan conversation sparked from these images. Additionally, I wait for the inevitable Vanity Fair article to come along. For all three prequels these articles really felt like theyd let us in to the film set and that the official publicity machine had begun properly.
