Star Wars Episode 7 - Who Should Direct?

6. Matthew Vaughn

Why it could be him: Matthew Vaughn's career has vaulted him on to every short list of every comic or tentpole release, after the successes he had with Kick-Ass, and more importantly, X-Men: First Class. He can certainly handle a big budget, and could probably turn in a pretty sweet Star Wars film. He's also available now that he's not directing X-Men: Days of Future Past. Plus, hiring him would be seen as a good choice by most fanboys/girls. Why it won't be him: While it hasn't been officially stated why he passed on directing X-Men: DoFP, one might speculate that he did so to be available for the next Bond film. (Mark my words - that's happening.)
