1. Brad Bird
Why it WILL be him: Yes, at the moment he's only directed one live action film, but how awesome was Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol? While the other three films divide fans somewhat, almost everyone agrees that Brad Bird nailed it with his installment. He's currently developing a new movie with Damon Lindelof, and although not much is known about this project, one can assume it will continue to add to Bird's ever-growing skill as a live action director. Also, he's a favorite son at Disney, having risen through the ranks at Pixar - helming The Incredibles and Ratatouille, and becoming an Oscar winner along the way. Think about that last part again - an Oscar winner directing a Star Wars film. Sweet. Why it won't be him: I've got nothing, because it WILL be him.
