1. The Carrie Fisher Scenes Will Be Heartbreaking

And finally, one thing to be sure of: there won't be a dry eye in the house when Carrie Fisher's final scenes in Star Wars play out on the big screen. But with any luck these scenes won't just be heartbreaking, they'll also be brilliant. Fisher seemed to step back into Princess Leia's personality with ease for The Force Awakens, and with her role said to be a bigger one this time around, there could well be plenty of treats for her fans.

It would be particularly great to see Fisher's winning sense of humour in the film, alongside the ballsy attitude that made her first turn as Leia so memorable. A reunion with her twin, Luke Skywalker, is also on the wish-list, as is some shared screen time for Leia and her son Ben (AKA Kylo Ren). Some familial scenes could really deepen the emotional impact of the film, as if the fact it's Fisher's last Star Wars performance isn't enough.

Episode VIII will be a film with a fun tone, lots of Luke, tests for the new heroes and probably a twist or two, but hopefully - above all else - it'll be a fitting tribute to Carrie Fisher, who played a huge part in bringing this franchise to life and finding a place for it in fans' hearts all those years ago...
