6. Those Rumoured Titles Are Almost Certainly Fake
Even though we haven't had any firm word from Lucasfilm and/or Disney on the matter, the internet has a bad habit of churning out fake titles for upcoming Star Wars movies - and Episode 8 is no exception.
Over the past year, we've heard the likes of the - admittedly cool - Star Wars: Fall Of The Resistance, the lame Star Wars: The Order Of The Dark Side and the decidedly 'meh' Star Wars: Tale Of The Jedi Temple - but Rey herself, Daisy Ridley, isn't so certain that any of this bunch will see the light of day.
In an appearance on the podcast 'My Dad Wrote A Porno' (now there's a title), the star said:
"I heard a [rumoured] title and I'm not sure if it's gonna be that. I have heard it [the real title]. I heard it a long time ago before we started filming and I felt like some things have tweaked slightly during. It's going to be a while before it's released I imagine."
So, at least one of those 'leaked' titles is fake, and even if one of the others is on the money, it seems like even Lucasfilm haven't settled on a final one yet; the episode title is constantly being tweaked, and won't be revealed for a while.
Ridley's comments were made at the end of August, so "a while" could be anywhere from now to next May - just don't expect the title to line up with any of those aforementioned rumours.
