Star Wars Episode IX: 8 Consequences We'd Like To See With The One-Year Time Jump
1. Rey As Jedi Teacher
Rey's arc began in Force Awakens with her as little more than a humble scavenger on Jakku, wishing to know who she truly was. That film saw her getting caught up in the struggle between the First Order and the Resistance, feeling as if she may have finally found her place in the galaxy. Last Jedi then challenged her even further, forcing Rey to both come to terms with the fact that her parents sold her off for drinking money and then to be strong enough to realize that heritage doesn't define who you are.
In Last Jedi's finale on Crait, Luke well-and-truly passes the baton to her with one of his final lines, saying; "I will not be the last Jedi".
Here's hoping that Episode IX finds Rey having spent the year time-jump establishing a new school of the Jedi arts and training new younglings. It would bring her arc full circle, finding her place in the galaxy and also becoming a guiding light for other lost souls as well, helping them find their own way.
Considering Episode IX may very well be the last we see of Daisy Ridley's Rey, here's hoping J. J. sends her out on a high note.
