Star Wars Episode IX: 8 Consequences We'd Like To See With The One-Year Time Jump
2. Kylo Ren As A Ruthless Supreme Leader
A year passing means that Ben Solo will have spent a full year in command of the First Order and that is a tantalizing thought.
Last Jedi saw Kylo murdering Supreme Leader Snoke, only to then violently claim the throne for himself. The final act of that film gave audiences a glimpse of the kind of ruthless dictator Kylo Ren would be and we cannot wait to see how the year of conflict has affected him. Adam Driver's performance has been consistently intense and enthralling, so the thought of him being fully let off the leash to go completely berzerk in such a powerful way sounds incredible.
His relationship with Rey will also have only grown more complicated in the ensuing year. Rey, quite literally, severed their link at the end of Last Jedi despite Kylo's wishes for her to join him. So it's pretty safe to say that when he finally does come face-to-face with her once again, emotions will be running high for both of them.
