Star Wars Episode IX: John Boyega Wants A Longer Fight Scene

Just so long as he doesn't yell "CHROME DOME!" again.

The showdown between Finn and Captain Phasma was shown a lot in the trailers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, promising a clash of blows in a rivalry that'd been brewing since the start of The Force Awakens.

However, when the scene itself rolled around, it wasn't actually all that long. In fact, how quickly the battle was over even surprised John Boyega, who spoke about Finn's big moment to IGN:

"Yeah, man, I didn't expect it to be that quick if I'm being honest with you. I was like, wait, wait, what? He's been like ramped up for a big fight and then it was over in a second."

However, the actor is hoping for bigger things in the next instalment, which is once again being directed by J.J. Abrams, adding: "But, hopefully, Finn gets to face someone else or has a fight that's much longer.by the way [in Episode IX]"

There's still a chance that Phasma could return in the ninth episode, so perhaps we'll have another showdown between the pair, but even if not there'll be plenty opportunity for Finn to get his hands dirty as the war between the First Order and the Resistance comes to a conclusion.
