Star Wars: Episode IX Rumoured To Feature A Major Betrayal
Will the Resistance gain a surprise ally next year?
J.J. Abrams' upcoming finale to Star Wars' Skywalker Saga, like all of the director's previous work, has been shrouded in mystery, but that hasn't stopped little tidbits about the script leaking here and there. The latest rumour doing the rounds suggests that part of the next sequel will focus on The First Order searching for a traitor in their ranks, who's covertly feeding information to the Resistance.
Going further, it's actually Domhall Gleeson's General Hux who's been fingered as being the mole. Though he's not shown all that much humanity throughout the past two movies, it would make sense that his character would aid the Resistance, even if to simply spite The First Order. His rivalry with Kylo Ren has been highlighted ever since The Force Awakens, and with the young Sith now in total control after dethroning Snoke, Hux has more motivation than ever to seek out revenge.
Of course, it's still just a rumour so take it with a pinch of salt, but don't be too surprised if you see Hux join Rey, Finn and Poe to take down Kylo next year.
