2. The Skywalker Family

Continuing the Star Wars Saga by continuing the tale of the Skywalker clan seems to be a safe bet for Disneys production team. Luke and Anakin formed good blank-slate main characters that travelled the universe meeting interesting side characters that really spiced up the Star Wars Universe. In addition to that, however any young Skywalker will be directly descended from the three main characters of the Original trilogy, jedi master, a roguish smuggler and the last of a line of royalty from a dead planet. What could a young Skywalker become? Would they walk the path of good as did Luke or will they fall to the dark like their grandfather Darth? The best, if riskiest path for the film makers to take would be to do neither. Perhaps the next generation possess a distinct lack of midichlorians and are forced into a life of adventure away from their ancestors. This would probably be the most entertaining for audiences. Images of a rag-tag Firefly-esque crew of near-do-wells travelling the Star Wars universe are great fun to contemplate and such a set-up would be a convincing excuse to both have the Skywalkers find danger and explore that galaxy far-far away.
