Star Wars Episode VII: 7 Things We Learned In 2013

1. R2-D2 Is The First Confirmed Cast Member To Return

With all of the rumors that swirled around in 2013 regarding this monster project, the only cast member to be confirmed was the trusty little astromech droid, R2-D2. This is a no brainer of sorts, as what would any Star Wars film be without R2-D2 in the midst of it? With R2-D2's confirmation as a returning cast member, it has to be only be a matter of time before his friend and counterpart C-3PO is also announced. The best part about R2-D2's confirmation to the film was also the announcement that LucasFilm would be bringing Star Wars fans into the fold for the production process. Lee Towersey and Oliver Steeples, Star Wars fans and founders of the R2-D2 Builders Club, will be providing their services in creating and maintaining fully functional R2 units for the film. This is any die hard fanboys dream come true. What do you think? Will 2014 be a bigger year for confirmations for Episode VII? Did we miss any other big news announcements from 2013?
