Star Wars is just for boys? Not any more. Besides all the female cast members who will return to the fray for the blockbuster behemoth that will be Episode VIII, it's also thought that lots of new female characters will be making their debuts in the film - a rather exciting prospect, you'll agree, given that Episode VIII already had Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher and Gwendoline Christie. We know that there are set to be a lot more female characters from the fact that actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw has reportedly been cast in an unspecified role, whilst actresses Gina Rodriguez, Tatiana Maslany and Olivia Cooke are all currently assumed to be vying for a role as a "strong female lead." There are also bound to be new characters of the male variety making their first appearances in Episode VIII (Benicio Del Toro amongst them), but there's been no word yet as to which actors could end up playing a major part in that galaxy far, far away...
