5. Maul
After killing Pre Vizsla in single combat, Maul took control of Mandalore and used the Darksaber as his own.
Using former Prime Minister Almec as the face of his rule, the powerful former Sith began ruling the planet from the shadows, hoping to create an empire of his own. During this time, he lured his mortal enemy, Obi-Wan Kenobi, to the planet and killed his old flame Duchess Satine before his eyes.
He later used the Darksaber in a duel with his former master, Darth Sidious, who killed Savage Opress and eventually bested his old apprentice. After being taken prisoner by his master, the saber was recovered by Almec and Maul ended up using it in a duel against General Grievous. After this, the Darksaber was stored on Dathomir in the lair of the Nightsisters, and Maul returned to Mandalore without it in the final days of the Republic.
