Star Wars: Every Lightsaber Duel Ranked Worst To Best

This is where the it all started. This duel remains one the franchise's most iconic moments, and for good reason. That being said, removing nostalgia from the equation, the duel itself is quite underwhelming.

In its day, there can be no denying just how astounding and game-changing it was, and it certainly captures the film's idea of good versus evil well, but its age shows and doesn't really hold up against the franchise's later, more epic duels.

The Obi-Wan vs Vader fight is not about the choreography, or even the emotion felt between the two opponents, but about Obi-Wan realising that Luke is the new hope, and his part in the boy's story is done.

That being said, it would perhaps have benefitted from some added emotion between the players, given their extensive history and their once-brotherly relationship.
