To hammer home that this is set thirty years on from the original trilogy, here's a bit of advanced tech - an astromech droid with a ball body. And you thought Interstellar's robots were advanced. Whether this little guy is just a background element of what appears to be a desert-based junkyard, or a main character is uncertain, although his inclusion in the trailer suggests a semi-important role (and lots of toys). Also note in the background what appears to be a pod-racer engine. Whisper it, but the prequels did happen.
