Just as the gang are about to be devoured by a giant space monster, Boba Fett makes the save in his first introduction to the Star Wars universe.

At first, Fett befriends Luke and company, but of course, he's really in the employ of the Imperials, and once Chewie is located in the Millennium Falcon, he ends up showing his true colours, but the heroes manage to escape.

If there's any reason this special needs to exist, it's to ensure that Boba Fett remains part of the Star Wars universe, which just about makes its existence worth putting up with. Only just.
