Return Of The Jedi was the anticipated conclusion to the original Star Wars Trilogy. Released in 1983 and set one year after its previous instalment, The Empire Strikes Back, the story came from George Lucas, who also took the role of executive producer whilst directed by Richard Marquand.

The film, although considered the lesser of the original trilogy, was met with a mostly positive response, grossing in the range of $475 million to $572 million worldwide. Return Of The Jedi won 21 awards, mostly for Visual Effects, and brought to a satisfying conclusion the story of Luke, Leia, and Han. The legacy of the Star Wars franchise has lived on since, and remains strong having produced both a Prequel Trilogy (which started 16-years after Return) and now a Sequel Trilogy too, which hit cinemas 32-years later and picked up three decades after the events of the Original Trilogy closer.
