Star Wars: Rogue One - 10 Major Cameos To Expect

7. The Star Wars Rebels Crew

Star Wars: Rebels isn't quite at the stage where it feels like truly essential viewing, but it is still a very solid addition to the Star Wars universe. I could never quite get on board with The Clone Wars, but Rebels features some great, McQuarrie-inspired animation, some fun ways of fleshing out the mythology, and interesting new characters who are a believable part of this world. The key thing working in its favour when it comes to Rogue One is that it takes place at a similar time. It's set between Episodes III and IV, so the Rebels crew will presumably be working around the same time as the spies involved in Rogue One's mission, and, well, they are called Rebels. Working against it is the fact that they're animated, so it would be transferring those characters to a live-action setting. Not in itself a major problem, but it could end up hurting the show, while there's an argument that not enough people would really care or recognise the characters, especially if they weren't animated. All valid, but if they wanted to bring together their TV and movie worlds on the big screen, then this would be the way to do it.
