Star Wars Rogue One: 10 Major Concerns From Trailer 3

When great actor Max Von Sydow was cast as Lor San Tekka in Star Wars numero VII, the fan theories flooded in. Theories like; does he know Luke? Is he a Jedi? Is he an older version of a beloved character? Is a villain!?

So many tantalising theories, all a waste of time.

In the end he did... well, not a lot really. He gave some plans to not-Han Solo and then died. Literally anyone could have played the part.

With that precedent of wasting such a great actor in such a minor role already set, there's a concern they may have done the same again in Rogue One. Sure, Mads Mikkelsen's inventor Galen Erso has a few scenes in this newest trailer but it's either flashbacks or him and Orson Krennic staring at each other furtively.

It looks like Galen is pretty integral to the general plot, having been heavily involved in the Death Star's primary weapon, but that doesn't necessarily mean he won't be pushed into the background, becoming more a plot point than an actual character. That would be a travesty.

An actor of Mikkelsen's talent deserves to be in more than a small handful of scenes, so here's hoping they don't, to coin a phrase, 'Von Sydow' him.
