3. Galen Helps Create The Death Star
It's long been rumoured, hinted at, and might as well have been a plot point anyway, but this trailer finally confirms it: Galen Erso, Jyn's father, is at least partially responsible for creating the Death Star.
There's no clue as to his exact role here, but he's obviously been targeted by Krennic for a reason, and that's to force him into working on its construction. As a scientist, it'll likely have something to do with the finer machinations of how the Death Star operates. However, it also looks like we see him being tortured towards the end of the trailer, so he's obviously not doing this willingly, which leads to him trying to help the Rebels.
