Star Wars: Rogue One - 10 Major Reveals From The Celebration Europe Panel

1. Jiang Wen Accidentally Spoiled The Whole Thing

Spoiler warning on this entry, because I'm fairly certain this is something Lucasfilm didn't want broadcast.

When it came to Jiang Wen, the Chinese actor opened by talking about how he has a big gun, repeating it over and over in a pretty funny send-up of the film's secrecy.

However, he didn't stop there. Talking about his character Baze's relationship with Donnie Yen's Chirrut Îmwe, he revealed in the space of a couple of sentences that Baze claims to have done this legendary mission, but is actually lying, and that he'll only become a hero after Chirrut's death.

WOW. Everyone on the panel was stone-faced, but the entire audience was stunned, not quite sure if the actor had really spoiled Rogue One at a freaking Star Wars convention. Mistranslation and uncertainty of language is one thing, but there's no two ways to read that.

It's likely Wen, who's rarely worked in Hollywood, is just operating with a different mindset, not fully buying the now-patented Star Wars secrecy (something all the other actors do, looking over at Kathleen Kennedy before answering each question), although you can bet after a stern word from the producer he'll be a lot better in future.
