Star Wars has a history of machines that steal the show away from their human counterparts, and Rogue One is unsurprisingly no exception.

Alan Tudyk does a fantastic job bringing reprogrammed Imperial droid K-2SO to life as a warm, hilarious comedy relief sidekick, and while some might argue that the film goes a little too far in terms of fan service-related quips, his character nevertheless gets most of the movie's big laughs.

As a sardonic droid who frequently comments on the insanity of the mission but also gets a few moments to shine during the action sequences, he effortlessly joins the pantheon of Star Wars robots who outshine a good portion of their human comrades.

He's certainly more interesting than Felicity Jones' fairly middling protagonist, anyway.
