Star Wars: Rogue One - 10 Things We Can't Wait To See

While his fall was chronicled throughout the prequel trilogy, the payoff of seeing Darth Vader before the suit did not live up to many fans expectations. The prequels focused on the rise of Darth Vader, but fans only witnessed a small sample of the man behind the mask and his capabilities.

Rogue One has the potential to expand on this character in a way fans have only dreamed of. While his role will be small in this film, his appearances will carry significant weight. The Emperor wouldn't dispatch his hound unless it was required, revealing that his appearance is pivotal to the plot.

Darth Vader is Star Wars. He represents the Empire more than any other character in the franchise. With Director Krennic taking center stage as the film's central antagonist, it has to be assumed Vader arrives to play janitor and clean up the mess Krennic leaves. By film's end, it will be Vader's mission to retrieve the stolen plans that fell through Krennic's fingers and into Rebel possession, leading to the opening scene of A New Hope.
