What were the reshoots for? Were they to add more action? Bring the tone closer to that classic Star Wars feel? Change-up the timeline slightly? Give Han Solo a cameo?

Nope. Turns out it was to give Forest Whitaker a haircut. Or hair-growth, to be more accurate.

Whitaker's Saw Gerrera is still looking like a battle-worn, war-torn veteran, only now with a full head of hair, which probably doesn't represent any major change to the narrative unless he's hiding the Death Star plans in there. It's also interesting that, even with that change, he still appears to be in the same location as the previous trailer, which could be an indication that he isn't a particularly big part of the film.
