Easily the coolest new ship in the Star Wars pantheon, the TIE Striker takes elements of the iconic TIE Fighter and tweaks them to make an even more impressive looking ship.

They also serve a purpose, and there's a reason we haven't seen them before. They're a specialised dog fighter, designed for in-atmosphere flight and battle, meaning - excitingly - we're going to see dog fights in the sky above the beach battle sequence:
