This Easter egg was actually spotted about a week before Rogue One even hit cinemas, thanks to a sneaky shot that appeared in a TV spot, where the Ghost, the iconic VCX-100 light freighter from Star Wars: Rebels, is visible for just a moment.

Of course, it's possible this could just be a regular freighter rather than the one owned by Hera Syndulla, but the reference was of course incredibly deliberate, so it's fair to assume that Hera joined in to give the rebels a helping hand.
