6. Snoke Is In The Tank

Snoke, Snoke, Supreme Leader Snoke. The enigmatic figure from The Force Awakens, he's been subject to a mammoth amount of speculation since the film came out, and the Rogue One trailer only ramped that up.

In it, we see a tank similar to the bacta tank Luke recovers in during The Empire Strikes Back, and the assumption is there is someone inside of there. Given that Snoke is so highly theorised to be Darth Plagueis, which despite being shot down by Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo continues to persist, it's an almost natural jump from that to Snoke being in the tank here.

The theory continues that the reason is because Palpatine is keeping him around, either as a trophy or to inflict further torture on him, and hoping to truly learn the secrets of death that his former master knew but never passed on. Thus Snoke was present throughout everything else in the franchise, and that's how he knows so much about the Skywalkers and all the rest of it.

Of course, the fact it's being stated Snoke is not in this film in any way puts an end to this. But then, he's not; he's Plagueis!
