1. The Surviving Members Become The Knights Of Ren

The Knights of Ren were one of the mysterious elements of The Force Awakens, the dark group led by Kylo Ren, who appear to be responsible for the slaughter of those at Luke's Jedi Academy.

While we don't yet know their origins, a theory states that they could be surviving members of the Rebels from Rogue One, captured and then frozen in carbonite or preserved in some way until later in the timeline (TFA happens 30 years after Return of the Jedi, but the stuff at the Academy would've had a shorter gap).

It also looks at concept art for the Knights, and how they pair up with the members of Rogue One: the Monk, which seems like Donnie Yen's character; the Sniper, and Diego Luna's character is holding a rifle; there's even one called the Rogue. In some ways this is the craziest fan theory, and yet the pattern is there... sort of.
