Here's an interesting reveal. Cassian is a Rebel officer, and as such was assumed to be outsider Jyn's designated contact, but here he seems to be pleading to join the team; he says to Jyn "If you're really doing this, I want to help."

Of course, it could be more that he's trying to prove to the asset that he is fully invested in the mission, and not just a company stooge (which in turn suggests Jyn is more essential to the goal than it may seem).
